How Telegram escrow works: buyer and seller steps
Jianghu Escrow is the official escrow service of the Dama Jianghu group; see the overview. Everything happens in a Telegram chat with the bot. Below is what the buyer does, what the seller does, what happens when something goes wrong, and when you can no longer change your mind.
Before you start
- Buyer: open the bot and send /start.
- Seller: also open the bot once and send /start. A seller who has never opened it cannot be messaged, so the buyer cannot start an escrow with them. A seller with no Telegram username can share their personal payment link from the bot instead.
Buyer steps
Top up USDT
Use TRC20 and send the exact amount the bot shows. It normally arrives within minutes and the bot notifies you.
Start the escrow
Enter the seller's username, the item or service, the terms, the amount and how long the money should stay in escrow. The bot shows amount plus fee and whether your balance covers it. When you confirm, the money leaves your balance and is held immediately.
Wait for the seller
If the seller does not accept within 24 hours, the deal is canceled and the deal amount goes back to you. The clock starts when the seller accepts. The period is the one you picked: 7 days by default, up to 25 days.
Confirm
When the item matches the terms, tap confirm. The seller is paid at once. Be sure first: after you confirm you can no longer open a dispute.
Seller steps
You get a message
It shows the amount, terms and period, and that the money is already held.
Accept or decline
Accepting means you agree to the terms and period, and the clock starts. Declining returns the deal amount to the buyer.
Deliver
Ship or perform the work as agreed.
Mark complete
Add a tracking number or a note if useful. Do this before the deadline: if the deal is not marked complete when time runs out, the deal amount goes back to the buyer.
Get paid
After the buyer confirms, or automatically at the deadline if you marked it complete, the full deal amount lands in your balance and you can withdraw it.
Ready to try it?Open the bot and the money can be held in minutes.
Open the botExtending, refunding, disputing
- Extend: if goods are late, the buyer can extend once, by 3 days, within the maximum. The bot reminds the buyer 24 hours before the deadline.
- Seller refund: a seller who cannot deliver can refund the buyer at any time.
- Dispute: either side can open one before the deadline with a reason. Automatic release and refund stop and the funds are frozen. Both sides can send photos, chat screenshots and videos, and our team rules: release to the seller, refund the buyer, or split. After the deadline, or after the buyer has released the money, a dispute is no longer possible.
Withdrawing
Withdraw your USDT to your own TRC20 address. 3 USDT network fee per withdrawal, minimum 10 USDT. Withdrawals are reviewed and sent manually.
